Cedric Flush Ceiling Light - 2 lights - Lacquered Brass Elstead

Name: Cedric Flush Ceiling Light - 2 lights - Lacquered Brass Elstead
Brand: Elstead Lighting

Cedric is a Hinkley flush ceiling light distributed by Elstead Lighting: a low steel drum in a lacquered brass finish, closed underneath by an etched opal glass diffuser. The drum has a smooth, brushed surface, and the milky glass sits slightly below its rim.Size and mountingThe fitting is 30.5 cm in diameter and only 12.2 cm high, so it sits tight to the ceiling and barely lowers it — which matters in rooms with a low ceiling, where a pendant would get in the way. Weigh the 30.5 cm diameter against the size of the room if this is to be its only light. It weighs 3 kg and is for indoor use only. It is a Class I fitting, so it must be connected to the protective earth conductor. It runs on 230 V mains.Lamps and lightBehind the diffuser are two E27 lampholders, each rated for up to 40 W. Lamps are not included — you need to buy two. The limit applies to a lamp's actual power, so E27 LED lamps equivalent to an old 60 W bulb, which typically draw 8–9 W, fit comfortably and together give around 1600 lm, enough for main room lighting. The etched opal glass diffuses the light and hides the lamps, so looking up you see no glaring points. The fitting is compatible with dimmable lamps: to dim it you need lamps marked as dimmable and a dimmer. Light colour is chosen with the lamps — 2700–3000 K gives warm light, 4000 K neutral.Style and intended roomsHinkley describes Cedric as a contemporary design: a plain cylindrical body with no ornament, the warm tone of brass and the white of the glass. It is intended for bedrooms and dining rooms. The Cedric family also includes a black version of the same shape.Mostra di più
